Leaving very early from Merida we will take the Transandina highway up to 3500 meters. Many small villages, churches, mountain lakes and beautiful andean scenery along the road. We stop in Barinas for a nice steak. About 1 hour later we raft down the first river - the acequias. The piemont enchants with nice little hills, maybe a glimpse of snow on Pico Humboldt and lots of tropical rain forest.

Day 2 is the day you will remember. A  3 to 4 hour long  class 4+  river. Rio Siniguis !!  The emerald color of it's water, continuos rapids and the unspoiled vegetation along make it certainly the best river to raft in Venezuela. We are the pioneers of this adventure sport and count with the support of professional senior pilots from New Zealand.

... by the way. We did the commercial spot for Coca Cola company (chinotto - Rafting) , the ID clips for the new Travel & adventure channel of Discovery Channel,  ZDF (german television, sendung Reiselust) and the coverstory of the FACES magazine dedicated to tourisme in Venezuela. 

Rafting is a seasonal activity. The months from June to December are the only time these trips are possible. In the dry season we offer a Kayak, Fun kayak, river banana & Tubing version. (inner tubes of trucks and tractors). In any case it is 2 fantastic days out on virgin rivers with tropical birds and vegetation including the mountain and paramo landscapes on day 1.
 

Who:
Anyone of average fitness (minimum age 14) can raft these rivers. Each raft has an internationally trained guide. On most trips the trip leader is a professional qualifed senior guide from New Zealand.

What to Bring:
Clothes for 2 days, sunblock, hat and personal  effects, Shoes for rafting (they will get wet!!!),Shorts/ bathing costume for rafting. Passport (you may require it for the police checkpoints), waterproof camera. A great sense of adventure for a fun time!!

This includes:
- Return transport from Merida, 
- 2 Lunches,1 Dinner, and 2 breakfasts.
- Accomodation on a shared room basis in beds and/or hammocks (for the real experience!) 
- All rafting equipment, 
- Professional guides and drivers, 
- 2 Great rivers!!!

Other important points:
If you have a medical condition relevant to rafting please make these known to your guides as soon as possible and bring you medication We will make every practical attempt to raft the rivers - but due to floods if the river becomes unsafe we reserve the right to raft alternative rivers or make other ajustments to the trip.
If you request  we can drop you of in Barinas instead of returning to Merida - please tell us before the trip.
