DAY 1: Arrival to the airport Simón Bolívar in Maiquetía (Caracas) in the morning. Connection with Flight to Puerto Ayacucho. Accommodation in a camp on the Orinoco. Lunch and presentation of the tour. In the afternoon we will visit to the surroundings of Puerto Ayacucho, admiring the peculiar savanna with unique granitic domes in the world. We visit old Petroglifos. Relax in a natural toboggan in the amazon forest, with natural jacuzzis. In the area one of the jewels of the Venezuelan herpetofauna is abundant: Dendrobates leucomelas. There is also opportunity to observe other interesting species, especially at night. We can find species like Hyla boans, Leptodactylus lithonaetes, Bufo marinus, B, granulosus, B. guttatus, Ceratophrys calcarata, Corallus hortulanus, Bothrops atrox, Micrurus surinamensis... as well as immense tarantulas (Teraphosa leblondii).
DAY 2: Fly to our camp in the deep Amazon (Camani). Arrival and accommodation in double or triple bungalows, with private bathroom and roof fans. Explanation of the herpetofauna of the area and preliminary recognition of the surroundings. Evening and night herping.
DAY 3: Trip walking for primary rainforest, and with the opportunity of observing all type of wild fauna. Return to the camp and new night herping.
DAY 4: Visit to an Ye ' kuana or Piaroa indigenous community, where we will share the wisdom acquired by their people around the topics that more they interest us, their relationships with the different herp species that surround them. Night medical exit to in herp search.
DAY 5: Trip in boat through the Ventuari river, navigating among virgin forests, where they are usually observed with relative easiness monkeys, caymans, turtles, river dolphins, giant otters and other typical Amazon animals. Piranha fishing in the river. Return and new night herping.
DAY 6: Fly to Pto. Ayacucho. Rafting through the rapids of Atures and Maipures in the Orinoco. Farewell dinner. Optional herping last night or visit to a local disco.
DAY 7: Fly from return to Caracas.
What is included: 4 flights (CCS-Pto Ayacucho; Pto Ayacucho-Camani; Camani-Pto Governess; Pto-governess-CCS); service of transport; lodging in 2 deluxe camps; 1 beside the Orinoco the first night; another inside the Orinoco-Amazon forest 4 nights, beside the river Ventuari; all type of luxury: welcome cocktail, churuatas (native style bungalows, with mosquito nets, private bathroom, roof fans; dining room, restaurant, bar, closed circuit of TV, Direct TV, pool, skillful with hot water, stables, radio communication, medical service of emergency. DAYS 2-5: we sail the Orinoco
in a boat towards the Cuao massif (option A) or to the Cerro Autana (Option
B), both beautiful tepuys almost unexplored herpetologically, where a diverse
fauna exists. The hillsides are populated by amazon pluvial forest and
above of cloud forest. We sleep in hammock with net in Piaroa indigenous
camps. We will enjoy piranha fishing and observation of typical fauna,
as river dolphins, giant otters, an enormous diversity of birds and wonderful
insects as butterflies of attractive colors.
We take a bath in crystalline pools and we can enjoy one of the most
extensive natural toboggans in the world. In this place one of the most
incredible Dendrobates, a variety of leucomelas of phosphorescent green
color, inhabits, which is in process of study by Dr. Myers of the Museum
of Natural History of New York. Return in boat to Puerto Ayacucho. Lodging.
DAY 6: Rafting through the rapids of Atures and Maipures in the Orinoco (Optional). Farewell dinner. Optional herping last night or visit to a local disco.
DAY 7: Fly from return to
Caracas.

all the foods and necessary basic team (you Rock with net, kitchen utensils).
Cook. Rafting for the streams of Atures in the Orinoco (optional).
