The Chronicles mention the existence of this path as early as the Spanish set foot on the new continent. The cattle brought from
Barinas followed the footsteps of the indigenous people on the way over to the basin of Maracaibo. Then roads were built and the trail disappeared - eaten up by thick jungle. 
With Arassari Trek you can nowadays follow the prints of the ancestors again. A savage 6 day trek through totalwilderness of stunning beauty. 5 different vegetation zones assure you a changing scenery every day. Leather snake protectors (gaiters) are to be worn on 2 days and the water supply will come from bromeliads, lianas or mosses. Reaching the isolated, typical village with it's hot springs at the end of the journey is like discovering paradise.
