DAY 1: MERIDA-LA AZULITA
Mérida City. Airport/Hotel assistance & transfer to La Mesa de los Indios trail and Monumento Chorrera de Las Gonzalez. Waterfalls and primary clouded forest, birwatching in the area (Whitecapped Dipper, Andean Guan, Emerald Toucanet, Crested Quetzal, Black Phoebe,...) Lunch at the Village of Jají, visit to the Museum of Birds (Museo de los Pájaros). (Wood sculptures) souvenirs, early in the afternoon (14:00). Transfer to La Azulita, visit  to the forest El Chorotal with a great view of Maracaibo Lake. (Masked Trogon, Green Jay, Saffron-headed, Bay-headed, Golden, Flamed-faced, Blue and black Tanagers, Blue-napped and Chestnut-breasted Chlorophonias, Fork- tailed Woodnymph, Ruddy Pigeon, Golden-headed & Crested Quetzals, Racquet- tailed Hummingbird, Scarlet-fronted Parakeet, Rose-headed Parakeet, Scaled Pigeon, Black and Chestnut Eagle, Band-tailed Pigeon, Wattled Guan, Grey- capped Hemispingus, Black-mandibled Toucan, Slate-crowned Antpitta, Golden- breasted Fruiteater,...) Lodge. Dinner.

DAY 2: LA AZULITA-MERIDA
Breakfast, morning walk and birding around the area of San Luis. Half a day. Pic-nic lunch. (Orange-crowned Oriole, Magpie Tanager, Crested Oropendola, Lineated Woodpecker, Squirrel Cuckoo, Bicolored Hawk, Black- mandible Toucan, Rufous-tailed Hummingbird,Crimson-backed Tanager, White- lined Tanager, Crimson-backed Tanager, Blue and Gray Tanager, Red-crowned Anttanager, Stripe-backed Wren,Mountain Wren, Rufous-breasted Wren, Boat- billed Flycatcher, Cattle Tyrant, Collared Aracari, Yellow-billed Toucanet,...) Visit to El Chorotal area. (Road-side Hawk, White-rumped Hawk, Swallow- Tailed Kite, Bat Falcon, Rufous Vented Chachalaca, Barred Forest Falcon, Andean Guan, Ruddy Pigeon, Long-tailed Sylph, Moustached brush-Finch,...) transfer to  San Juan (Ruby-topaz Hummingbird) & birding in Laguna de Urao (Cammon Gallinule, Neotropic Cormorant, Water Swallow, Pied-billed Grebe, Black- crowned Night-heron, Troupial,...) Return to Mérida City. Hotel. Dinner.

DAY 3: MERIDA-SANTO DOMINGO
“Very early” (5:45hrs.) transfer to the Sierra Nevada’s National Park Guesthouse in La Mucuy area. Walking on the Humboldt trail. Pic-nic breakfast & lunch. Half a day birding (Glossy-black Thrush, Summer Tanager, Beryl-spangled Tanager, Barred Fruiteater, Chestnut-crowned Antpitta, Smokey Brown Woodpecker, Yellow-legged Thrush, Bananaquit, Emerald Toucanet, Crested Quetzal, Mérida Sunangel, Collared Inca, Scaly-naped Parrot, Barred- forest Falcon,...) Afternoon transfer to Mucubaji Lake. (Speckled Teal, Andean Siskin, Sierra Finch, Great Thrush, Brown-back Chat-tyrant, Eared Dove, Black- chested Buzzard-eagle, Purple Martin,Tyrian Metaltail, Purple-back Thornbill, White-sided Flower-piercer, Sparkling Violetear,Ochre-browed Thistle-tail,...) dinner and well deserved rest at Hotel Los Frailes (Sword-billed Hummingbird, Sparkling Violetear, Golden-bellied Startfronlet, Great Thrush, White-capped Dipper,...) Charming mountain lodge built in 1643. as a Monastery, surrounded by deep valleys, glacier lakes, moraines and unique eco-system. 

DAY 4: SANTO DOMINGO
Breakfast at the Hotel (Halleluja !) and morning tour to the Eagle Pass (on the way to Piñango Village). Birding on the highest paved road in Vzla. over 4. 000 meters approx., in search of the Great Andean Condor, and a visit to the Biological Station on Mifafí Valley. (Souvenirs) Birding around the area (Bar-winged Cinclodes, Andean Tit-spinetail, Páramo Pipit, Bearded Helmetcrest, Andean Condor, Eared Dove, Black-chested Buzzard Eagle, Sierra Finch, Speckled Teal, Blue-winged Teal, Streaked-backed Canastero, Páramo Wren, Tyrian Metaltail,...). Lunch in a typical restaurant in Apartaderos Village. Afternoon birding in Las Tapias (or Gustavo´s trail), the eco-tone between clouded forest and Páramos (Torrent Duck, White Capped Dipper, Slaty Brush-finch, Lachrymose Mountain-Tanager, Broad-winged Hawk, Swordbilled Hummingbird, Tyrian Metaltail, Blue-back Conebill, Orange-throated Sunangel, Sparkling Violetear, Masked Flower-piercer, Coal-black Flower-piercer, Crimson-backed Woodpecker, Collared Jay,...), dinner.

DAY 5: SANTO DOMINGO-BARINAS
Breakfast, morning tour to Santo Domingo river (Torrent Ducks) and full day in San Isidro trail, (including pic-nic lunch). Birding (Andean Cock-of the-Rock,Chestnut-bellied Thrush, Hooded-mountain Tanager, Blue-capped Tanager, White-wing Tanager, Blue-hooded Euphonia, Thick-billed Euphonia, White-sided Flycatcher, Black Phoebe, Green and Black Fruiteater, Bay-headed Tanager, Golden Tanager, Flame-faced Tanager, Beryl-spangled Tanager, Blue- necked Tanager, Speckled Tanager, Saffron-headed Tanager, Orange-eared Tanager, White Hawk, Rose-headed Parakeet, Red-headed Barbet, White-rumped Hawk , Bicolored Hawk, Golden-winged Manakin, Ruddy Pigeon, Cliff Flycatcher, Orange-throated Sunangel , Black Phoebe, Green Jay, Long-tailed Sylph, Masked Trogon, Crested & Golden-headed Quetzals, Barred-forest Falcon, Long-tailed Sylph, Red-ruffed and Purple-throated Fruitcrows, Andean Guan, Band-tailed Guan, Lined Quail-Dove, Band-tailed Pigeon, Crested Oropendola...) rest in Barinas city. DAY 6: BARINAS-HATO
“Early” transfer to Caimital. Pic-nic breakfast. (12,000 acres of  lowland rainforest and savannah. 
Area protected by the University of Los Andes) Half a day birding (Laughing Hawk, Blue-crowned Motmot, Spangled Cotinga, Green-winged Macaw, Orange- chinned Parakeet, Yellow-headed Caracara, Violaceous Trogon, Russet-throated Puffbird, Pale-headed Jacamar, Many-banded Aracari, Red-billed Toucan, Fasciated Antshrike, Great Antshrike, Wire-tailed Manakin, Glaucous Tanager, Black-crowned Tityra, Troupial,...) Lunch in Barinas City and transfer to the lodge (3 ½ hrs approx.). Spectacular and huge cattle ranch in the open plains known as Los Llanos, with a great scenery of savannah, marshes, lagoons, rivers and gallery rainforest. Birding on the way (Turkey Vulture, Cattle Tyrant, Cattle Egret, Great Kiskadee, Crimson-backed Tanager, Yelow- headed Parrot, Chestnut fronted Macaw, Flycatchers, Hawks, Falcons, Orioles, Storks, Herons, Egrets, Bitterns, Ibises, Ducks,...) lodge and dinner 

DAY 7: HATO

Early breakfast, check out and transfer to Barinas City Airport. Birding on the way. Lunch in restaurant (Orange-fronted Yelowfinch, Chestnut-bellied Seedeater, Troupial, Eastern Meadowlark, Thick-billed  Euphonia, Tropical Gnatcatcher, Gray Kingbird, Green rumped Parrotlet, Brown Throated Parakeet, Doublestriped Thickknee, Southern Lapwing, Gray Hawk, Whistling Heron, Green ibis, Little Blue Heron, Jabirú, Maguary Stork, Red-breasted Black-bird, Crane Hawk,...) Check out. Departure flight to Caracas.
