MERIDA NORTHERN TORRENT DUCK TOUR
Mérida City. Airport/hotel assistance and transfer to El Vallecito (15 Min.), a village on the way of  Mucujún River Valley. Visit to a dirty road next to the bank’s river. Breakfast. Half a day birding   (Northern Torrent Duck, White-capped Dipper, Black Phoebe, Green Jay, Slaty brush-Finch, Great Thrush,...) Lunch on the way to El Valle, visit to other bridges on the west side of  Mucujún River, birding all the way to Páramo La Culata and walking through the frailejones, looking for the endemics. (Mérida Sunangel, Mérida Flowerpiercer, Brown-back-chat Tyrant, Black-chested buzzard Eagle, Ocrhebrowed Thistletail, Andean Siskin, Band-tailed Pigeon, Sparkling Violetear, Crimson-mantled Woodpecker, Páramo Pipit, Bar-winged Cinclodes, Bearded-helmetcrest Hummingbird, White-sided Flowerpiercer, Coal-black Flowerpiercer,...) PUEBLOS DEL SUR
Mérida City. A/h assistance and early transfer to Estanques (45 min), (village at the end of Chama river’s eroded canyon), to see the spectacular transition between desert and rainforest on the way to the town of Canaguá. This is a climbing road from 400 mts. sea level, to almost 3000 mts at the top! (Páramo El Molino), this road goes through cactus enviroment, deciduous rainforest, clouded forest & páramo. Pic-nic breakfast and full day birding (Squirrel Cuckoo, Bay-headed Tanager, Flame- faced Tanager, Saffron-headed Tanager, Lineated Woodpecker, Spot-breasted Woodpecker, White-lined Tanager, Red-crowned ant-Tanager, Scaled pigeon,Mockingbird, Striped-backed wren,  Rufous-breasted Wren, Yellow-billed Toucanet, Strong-billed Woodcreeper, Troupial, Goldengreen Woodpecker,...). MERIDA CABLE CAR
Mérida City. Breakfast. A/h assistance and early transfer to the Teleférico’s first station in Plaza Las Heroinas ( five stations), taking the first car in the morning all the way to the top, (birding in every station), and then after lunch walking back to the city (3 hrs downhill) from the second station called “La Montaña”, (we suggest to start around two) look for the trail (primary clouded forest on the northern face of  Sierra Nevada National Park) and follow it down to the village of El Arenal, cross the Chama River and walk up through “Cuesta del Teleférico” to be in the city again in the late evening. PARAMOS
Mérida City. A/h assistence and“early”transfer to the Eagle Pass at 4.118 mts s.l. (2:00 hrs) Breakfast. Visit the upper Valley of Mifafí on the way to Piñango Village. Cóndor hunting morning. Birding around. Endemics (White capped Dipper, Black-chested Buzzard Eagle, Bar-winged cinclodes, Andean Titspinetail, PáramoPipit, Bearded helmetcrest Hummingbird, Andean Cóndor, Sierra Finch, Páramo Wren, Andean Siskin,..) Walk around Gavilán´s Peak Lagoon (Speckled Teal, Blue-wing Teal...) visit to Mifafí  Biological station. SIERRA NEVADA
Mérida City. A/h assistance and transfer to La Mucuy.  Breakfast and early birding walk around  Sierra Nevada’s National Park station. Humboldt trail (Chestnut-crowned Antpitta, Ruddy Pigeon, Mérida Sunangel, Long-tailed Sylph, Gorgeted Woodstar, Scaly-naped Parrot, Golden-crowned Flycatcher, Green and Black Fruiteater, Whitefronted Redstar,...). Lunch in the City. If the weather conditions are ok we will take a midday trip to the Cable Car with lunch at the top (optional). Afternoon birding on the way to Los Nevados, via El Morro (45 min.) . After the Sierra Nevada’s National Park sign, the road goes across almost 8 km. approx, of pristine and primary cloud forest. Birding walk in the area. (Roadside & White-rumped Hawks, Emerald Toucanet, Barredforest Falcon, Chestnut-bellied Thrush, Masked Trogon, Rose-headed Parakeet, Troupial, Barred  Fruiteater, Pale-eyed Thrush, Booted-racquet Tail hummingbird, Black & chestnut Eagle, Green Jay,  Andean Guan,..) MERIDA´S OIL BIRDS TOUR
Mérida City. A/h assistance and “early”  transfer   to La Carbonera Valley on the way to the town of La Azulita ( 1: 15 Min ). Visit to Puente del Diablo (Devil’s Bridge), natural arch with a magnificent cave inside crossed by Capaz River (With a small colony of Oil Birds). Breakfast and birding (Black Phoebe, Torrent Tyranulet, Oil Birds,...) Visit to El Chorotal, spectacular road facing Maracaibo Lake’s basin with an exhuberant clouded forest. MONTE ZERPA

University of Los Andes) to visit Monte Zerpa’s Forest (15 min. aprox), magnificent and well preserved cloud forest that goes from 2.000 mts. to over 4.000 mts.a.s.l (Protected by the University and Sierra de la Culata National Park). Full day birding including; Torrent ducks and White-capped Dippers, following the right path to Albarregas River. Crossing the páramos (Venezuelan  highlands) from northwest to southeast (Sierra Nevada National Park) you´ll be at the most magnificent clouded forest on the foothills of the Andes (facing the Orinoco plains). Breakfast. Full day birdwatching including the best world known Andean Cock-of-the-Rock lek site.
