4 National Parks. The Andes, the Catatumbo lighthouse, the amazing bird- and wildlife of the plains, Hato "El Jagua" and the most beautiful, pristine beaches of Los Roques.
A dream itinerary made for all fanatics of nature, flora and fauna, spectacular landscapes, adventure and emotion.

Day 1:
London/ Usa - Caracas. Transfer and night in Hotel in Maiquetia. 

Day 2:
Caracas - El Vigia by plane (1 hour)  and then by van for 2 hours to Puerto Concha. Motorboat to explore the delta of the Catatumbo and the southern part of lake Maracaibo. (howler monkeys, iguanas, 20000 birds go to sleep at the same place every day !)
Night on a house on stilts on  lake Maracaibo/ hammock. At night observation of the Catatumbo lightning phenomena.

Day 3:
Early morning departure back to the port and in 3 hours by van to the piemont of the northern Andes. Nature walk of some 3 to 4 hours in a hot rainforest area. Bird- and butterfly observations. Afterwards visit of canesugar and chewing tobacco factories which still work like 300 years ago. Arrival in Merida in the evening. Night in a charming Posada. 

Day 4:
Visit of the highest and longest cablecar in the world. From august 98 on it will work again all the way up to Pico Espejo (4778 m). Paramo and the discovery of snow in the tropics. A 4 to 6 hours descent on mule or hiking to Los Nevados, a small hamlet. Diner and night in a rustic posada. 

Day 5:
Return to Merida by four wheel drive. 4 hours of adrenaline on one of the most impressive backcountry roads of Venezuela. Xerofite environment. Night in Merida. 

Day 6:
Free day in Merida. Handicraft market, Guinness Ice cream shop (600  flavors!), city visit. Afternoon if desired maybe a Paragliding tandem jump. (50/ 60 US$) 

Day 7:
Departure at 6 o’ clock for the paramoroad. Small Andean villages, the stonechappel of San Rafael, mountainlakes and the lush valley of St. Domingo. 4 to 5 hours by van with many interesting stops on the way. Arrival at Campamento Arassari…it means heaven. Afternoon riding (for all levels) and rafting or tubing amidst most beautiful tropical scenery. Night in hammock at the farm. 

Day 8:
Breakfast and 2 to 3 hours van drive to the port. Continuation by boat. Galleryforest, wildlife and birdwatching on the way to Hato "El Jaguar". Siesta and visit of the Hato and it’s activities. 5000 waterbuffalos and a lot of cattle. 8000 hectares of virgin primary forest and 17 000 hectares of Savannah. Lot’s of birds and wild animals. Night at Hato El Jaguar. Beds or hammocks.

Day 9:
Excursion by boat, walking, on horseback or 4 wheel drive to observe more wildlife. Optional Hoovercraft boatdrive ( min. 2 pax, 30 US p.p.). Overnight at the Hato (or soon) at Tarzan’s home.
A wide variety of animals can be seen in the llanos. Caimans, monkeys, iguanas, sweet water dolphins, turtles, capybaras and maybe even an anaconda, a jaguar or giant anteater. Hato El Jaguar is home to several of the biggest felines of South America ! 

Day 10:
Return by boat and then by van to Barinas. More wildlife watching. Afternoon flight from Barinas to Caracas. Night in Hotel in Caracas. 

Day 11:
Citytour of Caracas. Visit of historical center etc. 

Day 12:
Flight from Caracas to Los Roques. The most beautiful beaches are yours. Night in Posada on Gran Roque. 

Day 13:
Relax and snorkel the amazing underwater world of the world's fifth biggest archipelago. Boat excursions if desired at own cost.

Day 14:
Pristine beaches and a nice suntan 

Day 15:
Beach. Return flight to Caracas and from there back to London/ USA etc. 

Day 16:
Arrival in London/USA etc. 

This itinerary can be modified. For nature lovers it is possible to stay 1 or 2 days longer on the Hato"Los llanos" instead of the beach.  12 days circuit leaving out the beaches ! ask for detailed prices.
