2002 / Lonely Planet (Krzysztof Dydynski ):
Tour companies:
Arassari Trek (formerly Bum Bum Tours)
Run by Swiss polyglot Tom and his wife Raquel, the company has a wide
range of tours, including mountain trekking, horseback riding and kayaking,
as well as some of the most adventurous rafting and canyoning trips. Some
of its Los Llanos tours are conducted by Alan Highton, one of the best
bird and wildlife guides around. The company has a restaurant with
fabulous views over the cableway and the mountains, as well as a cybercafe.
Rafting & Canyoning:
River rafting was introduced in 1996 by Arassari.... It is done
on some of the rivers at the southern foothills of the Andes..... The newest
craze, also introduced by Arassari, is canyoning. Described by travelers
as "awesome, terrifyng, beautiful, insane but amazing" or possibly the
maddest thing you can do without getting killed", canyoning is run as a
full-day all-inclusive.....
Paragliding:
One of the most experienced local gliding pilots and instructors
is Raul Penso, who runs tandem flights and conducts courses. He can be
contactes through Arassari.
Hiking & Mountaineering:
Possibilities are almost unlimited..... Arassari provide information
about tours and other do-it-yourself hikes....

Petit
Fute, country guide Venezuela 2001:
Agences de voyages:
Arassari Trek .
d'équitation;
US$ par jour), kayak (55 US$), canyoning (55 US$ par jour),

Playground 11 production,
LLC (television):
To whom it may concern:
Tom Evenou of Bum Bum Tours assisted our film crew during
a five day shoot in Merida, Venezuela. Prior to arriving in Venezuela,
Tom spoke with our pre-production team and provided them with an abundance
of information about Venezuela and the many options we had for taping
our show. Tom was extremely helpful and spent a great deal of time
organizing our trip and contacting local officials. Due to the nature of
our shoot, tom was faced with many challenges which he successfully managed.
Tom was extremely helpful during the entire shoot. He worked very
hard, was patient and organized. For the record, I would recommend
him for any future production projects.
Sincerely,
Eve Hornstein, Associate producer
(the shows name is "off to nowhere" in this case the guest stars were
Michael
McKean and Finn Carter) |
